Our Agency
The Center For Psychotherapy (CFP) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation established to provide mental health services to children, adolescents and families. In addition, CFP has a contract with Contra Costa County Health Services to provide mental health services to children and adolescents that are currently enrolled in California Medi/Cal Insurance plan. Our therapists have extensive experience working with culturally diverse populations, and all efforts are made to ensure that therapy is culturally sensitive and appropriate.

PHILOSOPHY OF TREATMENT
Our agency aims to provide services which are in keeping with the empowerment philosophy of family-centered service delivery. This philosophy includes family involvement and collaboration, a focus on family strengths and empowerment, the provision of culturally congruent services, and informed family (and individual) choice including flexibility and accessibility. Consumers are involved in all aspects and levels of decision-making in order to ensure quality service delivery as well as to strengthen the family’s sense of control and self-efficacy. There is a clear emphasis on promoting health, accessing client strengths and community supports in an effort to prevent the need for more intensive and costly levels of care such as hospitalization, or multiple placements for foster children.
